Outed CIA officer was working on Iran, intelligence sources say by Larisa Alexandrovna, Raw Story, February 13, 2006

Plame "was part of an operation tracking distribution and acquisition of weapons of mass destruction technology to and from Iran....[I]ntelligence officials...suggest that Plame's outing was more serious than has previously been reported and carries grave implications for U.S. national security and its ability to monitor Iran's burgeoning nuclear program....According to their own assessment, the CIA would be impaired for up to 'ten years' in its capacity to adequately monitor nuclear proliferation on the level of efficiency and accuracy it had prior to the White House leak of Plame Wilson's identity." Cheney Team's Plame Leak Sabotaged America's Iran-Watching Intelligence Effort by Steve Clemons, Huffington Post, February 13, 2006

Clemons calls the Raw Story report "huge news" and speculates, based on anonymous source(s), that Joe Wilson found some evidence that Iran may have been trying to purchase uranium from Niger.
